

In order to deliver safe, trustworthy, and high quality health foods to customers, Nihon Biofoods has been at the forefront of the industry in voluntary adopting Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) methods and implementing them daily.
HACCP is the system of hygiene management developed by the US air and space agency NASA in the 1960s to ensure the safety of space food. Though no system for HACCP has yet been established in the health food industry, HACCP is fast becoming the global standard for managing food safety.
Since in our Manufacturing and Development Department we bear responsibility for delivering products to all our customers, we conduct hygiene and safety management at a high level.This is made possible by our system that spans from the acceptance of all raw materials through the shipping of manufactured products; at every step of the production process we conduct hazard analysis (pesticides, foreign objects, bacterial contamination), set checkpoints, conduct monitoring, and leave a record while ensuring safety. In our intensive management system, each and every one of our staff members is responsible for the production and development of safe, trustworthy, and
high quality health foods and supplements.
In our Research and Development Department we have stationed PhDs, Food Hygiene Managers, JAS Food Manufacturing Quality Control Managers, Poisonous and Deleterious Substances Handlers, and other distinguished researchers. Under our quality control and hygiene management system, we work to conduct research to clarify the mechanisms by which a range of functional foods centering around propolis display their effects, as well as research to verify their efficacy and ensure their safety. At the same time we conduct research into the latest processing and extraction technology so as to leave no functional components behind.


Because the three companies of the Nihon Biofoods Group (Nihon Biofoods Co., Ltd; Nihon Biofoods Manufacturing Co., Ltd; and Taiyo to Midori Ltd.) incorporate our customers' opinions during product development, we been able to conduct deeper joint research and development into food and health in order to develop over 100 varieties of supplements to date. Now and in the future, we will conduct R&D to develop great new products that could only be created by us.
